Why Montessori education?

Education based on the science of child development

We believe that following the child is the surest path to support her natural development. The system of education developed by Maria Montessori recognizes the individuality of each child, and strives to provide exactly what she needs in order to thrive. The Montessori approach uses observation of each child as the foundation for this, and is informed by the current thinking and research on child development and learning. Ultimately, it is our goal that we will send each child into the world equipped not just with a top academic education, but with creativity, compassion, respect, and a life-long love of learning.

AMI, or the Association Montessori Internationale, is the organization Maria Montessori created to carry her work forward after her death. The term “Montessori” is not copyrighted or protected, and AMI works to protect the authenticity of Montessori education, ensuring that all children get the maximum benefit. For more information on AMI, see their website.

Education for the Future

We remain focused on our individual school project, but our larger vision is to inspire even more learner-centered education throughout Luxembourg. Dr. Montessori felt that “mankind can hope for a solution to its problems, among which the most urgent are those of peace and unity, only by turning its attention and energies to the discovery of the child and to the development of the great potentialities of the human personality in the course of its formation.”
